Premios BAFTA 2026: 'Una batalla tras otra' y 'Sinners' lideran las nominaciones

La temporada de premios sigue subiendo la temperatura y ahora el foco se traslada al Reino Unido. Hoy se anunciaron las nominaciones a los Premios BAFTA, que quedaron dominados por un duelo muy concreto: Una batalla tras otra y Sinners, las dos producciones de Warner Bros. que encabezan la lista y confirman que la carrera será entre ambas.

La sátira política dirigida por Paul Thomas Anderson es la gran líder del año con 14 nominaciones, una cifra que la deja a apenas dos del récord histórico de los BAFTA y la pone a la altura de clásicos modernos como Gandhi, All Quiet on the Western Front, Atonement, The King’s Speech y Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. Un dato que no solo habla del peso del film en esta temporada, sino también del consenso que generó dentro de la industria británica.

Muy cerca aparece Sinners, el thriller histórico con elementos de terror dirigido por Ryan Coogler, que suma 13 nominaciones y hace historia como la película con más menciones en los BAFTA realizada por un director negro. A eso se le suma la candidatura a mejor actriz protagónica para Chase Infiniti, una presencia que contrasta con su ausencia en los Oscar y refuerza la idea de que los BAFTA suelen jugar su propio partido. Un escalón más abajo, Hamnet y Marty Supreme empatan con 11 nominaciones cada una. También hubo lugar para algunos desaires: Frankenstein consiguió ocho menciones pero quedó afuera de mejor película y dirección, mientras que Wicked: For Good apenas logró dos nominaciones técnicas.

Más abajo en la lista aparecen algunas producciones británicas e independientes como I Swear, Pillion y The Ballad of Wallis Island, que lograron colarse en categorías clave, incluyendo guion y actuación.

Los ganadores de los Premios BAFTA se anunciarán el 22 de febrero en el Royal Festival Hall de Londres, con Alan Cumming como anfitrión. Y todo indica que, al menos en esta parada británica, la pelea grande ya tiene nombres propios.
