El poder del perro se alza como la gran ganadora de los Critics' Choice Awards

La carrera previa a la llegada de los Premios Oscar se intensifica en su recta final, con un fin de semana plagado de premiaciones. El mismo día que se conocieron los ganadores de los Premios BAFTA, también se anunciaron los ganadores de Critics' Choice Awards.

Los premios de la Crítica Cinematográfica con otorgados por la Broadcast Film Critics Association en reconocimiento a lo mejor del cine y la televisión. La edición actual estaba liderada por West Side Story, la remake dirigida por Steven Spielberg, y Belfast, el drama autobiográfico de Kenneth Branagh, cada una de ellas con 11 nominaciones.

El premio máximo de la noche quedó en mano de El poder del perro (The Power of the Dog), el drama dirigido por Jane Campion, se quedó con el premio a Mejor Película y Mejor Director, entre otros.

Por el lado de las actuaciones, Will Smith se consagró con el premio a Mejor Actor por su actuación en King Richard, mientras que Jessica Chastain se quedó con la estatuilla a Mejor Actriz por su rol en The Eyes of Tammy Faye. Por el lado de las categorías de reparto, Troy Kotsur ganó a Mejor Actor de Reparto por CODA, y Ariana DeBose ganó a Mejor Actriz de Reparto por West Side Story.

Por el lado de la pantalla chica, Succession, el aclamado drama familiar de HBO ganó el premio a Mejor Serie de Drama, así como algunas categorías actorales. Por su parte Mare of Easttown se consagró como la Mejor Miniserie, al igual que su protagonista Kate Winslet. Y por último, Ted Lasso repitió como la Mejor Comedia, así como las principales ternas actorales del rubro comedio, siendo uno de los títulos más ganadores de la noche.
